Not long ago, Kpopeurope.eu got the chance to interview one of NEGA NETWORK’s most talented artists, namely K-Pop band LUNAFLY. Prior to the interview, we asked our followers on twitter for some questions for these very nice boys. The announcement of our interview was met with great response, as our twitter account got flooded with numerous questions from Lukies. So first, we want to thank all Lukies who sent in their questions for LUNAFLY. Unfortunately, due to time-schedule reasons, we could not ask the boys every question you have sent in. However, I believe that our readers and fans can understand this. So here is our long awaited interview with LUNAFLY!
SAM: Hello, Kpopeurope.eu readers!! We are LUNAFLY!! We are a group consisting of three members, Sam, Teo and Yun, who all play instruments and who are all main vocalists. We write our own songs in Korean and English.
TEO: We first met during a recording session. It wasn’t a planned meeting and our managers liked our spontaneous recording. That’s how LUNAFLY came to be. The name LUNAFLY reflects different emotions that people have when they look at the moon. We wanted to capture these emotions in our songs and let people hear them.
Kpopeurope.eu: The forming of LUNAFLY was spontaneous?! We think this is the first time that we heard something like this. This is indeed very interesting! We also like the deep meaning behind your name. That’s really smart! So, can you can you tell us how you prepare for a new song? Where do you guys get the idea and who’s behind writing the song?
YUN: We first come up with a theme. The demo is then prepared in English and the Korean version follows. We are all involved with writing a song. We try to imbue special meanings to our casual slice of life to get our initial ideas.
Kpopeurope.eu: Then you must have a really special connection to your songs! So from the album “Fly to Love,” which song is your favorite?
TEO: Our favorite song is “How Nice Would it Be,” which is a song we debuted with. It’s a song about a new love so everyone can easily relate to it. As our debut song, we naturally feel more attracted to this particular song.
Kpopeurope.eu: Ah, that’s pretty understandable. The debut song must be really special to everyone! So many important memories must be connected with it! However, there is something we wonder about. “Super Hero,” the English version of “How Nice Would it Be” has a different meaning – why is that?
SAM: I wrote the English version of the song. This song contains many different complicated emotions and although I wanted to deliver all of these, it was hard for me to translate them exactly. As the meanings can change from the way the lyrics are written, I could not maintain the consistent message in the song. So I wrote a new lyric for the English version with a different theme.
Kpopeurope.eu: Translating a text into another language is indeed not an easy task. Especially, if there are particular emotions involved! And as Asian languages differ greatly from Western languages, it seems no surprise that it was a difficult challenge to master! But we have to say that you did absolutely well, as we love both versions a lot! Speaking about “love”, LUNAFLY’s first album is about love. What other themes will your next album include?
YUN: We haven’t decided on a specific theme yet. But we can promise that we will touch on different genres and new stories with our upcoming albums.
Kpopeurope.eu: Oh, sounds great! We are really looking forward to listen to your new genre and stories! Furthermore, congratulation on your success with your recent Indonesia/Malaysia Tour! How did it feel to perform on such a large stage?
SAM: We are really grateful that we had a chance to perform there. We tried our hardest to put on a best performance and we were happy that we got to do what we love the most.
TEO: We would love to go to Europe when we get a chance to, and we’ll definitely make that chance in the future!
Kpopeurope.eu: Awesome! We and all European Lukies would love to see you here! So hopefully you can work something out in the future! Lastly, do you have anything you want to say to us? What can we expect from LUNAFLY in the future?
Kpopeurope.eu: Thank you so much for doing this great interview with us! We really appreciate your effort and the whole team of Kpopeurope.eu wishes you all the best for your future activities!
Once again, the whole staff of Kpopeurope.eu wants to thank the three awesome and nice guys from LUNAFLY for their participation in our interview! We are very grateful that they offered us their precious time even though they had a tight schedule! We wish them all the best for their future projects and hopefully we can welcome them in Europe in the near future!
Lukies are you looking forward to see them performing in Europe in the future?!
