The group stayed in the country for three days and drew the attention of local media outlets, even getting an emergency special talk show from the country′s most loved channel. Even after the concert took place, local promoters and broadcasting officials continued to send in their love calls for the group.
JYJ previously held a concert in Peru, making U-KISS the second Korean artist to do so. The concert was thus a meaningful first step for the group in the region.
U-KISS′ takeover of South America first started in Colombia. The group became the first Asian singer to perform at the rock festival held in May, and since then prepared to venture into South America after feeling the importance of the region′s market.
A rep from U-KISS′ agency NH Media told enews on November 4, “We aren′t thinking of the South American market as a one-time issue, and starting in Peru, we′re putting together a promotion schedule that goes through Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia. Near the end of next year we′re planning Korea′s first five-country South American tour.”
U-KISS returned to Korea on November 2, the day after the concert, after holding a fanmeeting with 2,000 local fans. It will start preparing for its promotions in Japan for its new single to be released in December.
