What a great year 2013 was for K-pop. A lot of changes came across the scene and the audience got bigger and bigger all over the world. Similar things happened to T-ara. Read more about their last year’s challenges in this article!
In mid April, after successfully promoting their last album “Day by Day” which was re-released with the title “Mirage”, their label Core Contents Media announced the group’s first subunit T-ara N4 (T-ara Brand New 4). This unit included the members Eunjung, Ahreum, Jiyeon and Hyomin – a pretty interesting mix that caused fans to eagerly await their first single “Jeonwon Diary 전원일기“. After a great and also challenging start, on July the 10th fans as well as the group members got shocked by the news that Ahreum was about to leave T-ara to focus on her solo career and on hip-hop which she was always interested in. Their label decided that the group would carry on with six members and not adding someone new. As for T-ara N4, they announced to replace her with a young rookie called Dani. Furthermore, in July the girls got a new leader Qri (T-ara changes the leader every year so all members have the chance to be the head of the group). Since then it became a little bit quiet around the girls but it’s no surprise because they have been preparing for their new album “#Again”. Then finally in October we got blown away by the pre-release of “Number Nine” and “I Know the Feeling” which reflected the musical talent of the girls and heated up the excitement for the upcoming mini-album “Again”.
“Number Nine” is a typical T-ara track with a cool beat, catchy chorus and sexy dance and then there is “I Know the Feeling” which shows the vocal power of the group, it is melancholic and slow paced, very heartfelt song and brings out the girls sensitive side. Both songs reflect the style of the album and climbed the charts pretty fast. The group didn’t rest on their laurels and so they also prepared for the Christmas season. They released “Hide & Seek” which has that typical T-ara spark with a pinch of Christmas in it. You can find all songs of the album “Again” including “Hide & Seek” on the recently released repacked album “White Winter”. We don’t exactly know what the future will bring for the girls. But so far, we expect them to join more film and musical projects like Boram’s appearance in the musical “The Lost Garden” which will be on from 17th, or Hyomin’s acting in the Japanese movie “Jinx” which will be released on February 13th. Therefore the new year already started promising. So be patient and stay excited for the future as the preparations for interesting new music projects have already started. In the meanwhile check out there latest album “#Again 1977” or visit their Official Facebook page! As you can see T-ara went through some changes recently.
