You love K-pop cover dancing, but haven’t heard of the latest and hottest dance cover contest out there? Well, then it’s time to get yourself informed!
As reported earlier on Kpopeurope, YG Entertainment launched a dance cover contest in celebration of Bigbang’s Taeyang’s new song “RINGA LINGA” on November 20. Also, we have promised all European dance cover teams and solo dancers to lend them our strength and support them on all our channels. Therefore, if you want to be supported by us in this contest send or tweet us your video together with a short description of yourself or your group!
If you haven’t prepared a video yet but want to participate in the contest, you have to follow the rules stated by YG Entertainment:
1. Create a cover video of RINGA LINGA either in a group or as an individual.
2. Upload the completed video on YouTube. The title of the video MUST begin with “[RINGA LINGA DANCE COVER]”.
3. Submit the URL that comes after “http://youtube/”, which can be seen when the ‘share’ button beneath the video is clicked.
4. Please fill out the application form on Taeyang’s Facebook page, which can be found in the section “RINGA LINGA Dance Cover Contest”. The application form is a pop-up and will complete your video submission.
5. Submission starts on November 20 and ends on December 4 at 11:59PM (KST).
6. The winners for both categories (best dance performance, best creative performance) will be announced on December 9.
Prizes for the winners:
Winner (1 solo or team): Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.2014 + Samsung HMX-F90
Runner-up (5 solos or teams): YG bear – Taeyang
Winner (1 solo or team): Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.2014 – Samsung HMX-F90
Runner-up (5 solos or teams): YG bear – Taeyang
The YG-Family asks you to show them your HEUNG (興). Special prizes will only be given to the team or solo that expresses Taeyang’s HEUNG (興) the best! If you don’t know what HEUNG (興) means, here comes the explanation by YG Entertainment:
“Show us your HEUNG (興)!
HEUNG (興) is a Korean word that embraces a sentiment of being overwhelmed by joy. It symbolizes a transmission of dynamic energy of jubilation that extends from an individual to the entire crowd of people. HEUNG (興) holds something far more intricate than just fun and pleasure –it is a sensation which uncontrollable energy radiates from one’s body.”
Here are some of the entries we’ve got from European dancers so far.
#1: DAVID G. from Switzerland (25)
#2: DANIELA (Dan) from Poland (20) RESULT: RUNNER-UP (Best Dance Performance)
#3: YOH JAH ! from France (20-24) RESULT: RUNNER-UP (Best Dance Performance)
