In his statements, he is answering some of the fan’s hottest questions about YG Entertainment, new debuts and comebacks of YG’s artists. Last week, he stand question and answer for the upcoming new girl group that has already been making some buzz for the last two years.
YG’s new girls, who have yet to be named, are expected to debut this year in October. Knowing YG, this might be changed again like before, but having him clearly said the month of the expected debut, it is highly possible that the new group will debut within this year. The group has been preparing for quite a long time and are said to be fluent in Korean, English and Japanese. With trilingual members with an average age of 17, it seems YG is aiming for a global audience once again.
First, the group was planned to have ten or more members, but YG cut the number down to six. According to him, Kim Yuna, who was a Superstar K contestant, had to be excluded “for personal reasons”. “However, Eunbi Kim, a contestant from the same program, remains as one of the 6 members”, so YG further.
What came pretty unexpectedly is the new promotional tactic YG Entertainment is aiming for this new group. Starting form October, one or two members will have their solo debut first, before forming the actual group. This is, as YG wants to see the public’s reaction towards the new girls, before caring on with the bigger project. This is sure surprising and unique for a planned debut of a new K-Pop girl group!
